REMOTE WORKER / DIGITAL NOMAD VISA

This new short-term visa allows remote workers to stay in Panama for 9 months and can be extended for an additional 9 months if required. To qualify for this visa, the applicant needs to meet the following requirements.

  • Earn a salary of no less than $36000 per year ($3000 per month) from an international company located outside of Panama

  • Completed application form including a commitment to cover return costs to their country of origin

  • Valid passport and certified copies

  • 4 Passport size photos

  • Certificate of good health

  • Health insurance which covers the period to be stayed in Panama

  • Criminal background certificate apostilled 

  • Personal background affidavit

  • Sworn declaration of non-acceptance of any job or service offered in Panama

  • Letter from the employment company stating the worker's position, salary, work modality, functions etc and its commitment to assume the costs to return to their home country, signed by the legal representative on a company letterhead

  • Proof of company existence.  Registration of company where the applicant is employed (registration documents) and apostilled by Panama consulate.

  • Payment of $250 to the National Immigration Service

  • Payment of $50 for the visa card

** Self-employed applicants must provide proof of their own company registered abroad, through which they carry out their business and an affidavit that describes the commercial activity of the company, the services provided, the clients to whom it provides the services and proof of income.

This visa does not allow dependents and does not grant permanent residency
